Can a Norwegian Technology and Innovation Fund Solve Global Crises?
Climate change, biodiversity loss, and health crises affect the entire global community. At the same time, much of the technology that can address these challenges is developed in high-income countries (HICs) and is rarely adapted to or implemented in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). How can we ensure that technology and knowledge are actually used where the needs are greatest?
To create change, new solutions and forms of collaboration across countries, sectors, and value chains are needed. One proposal is to establish an open technology and innovation fund for the most pressing challenges. This would facilitate global actors working together along value and innovation chains to scale and implement solutions in LMICs.
We invite you to a debate with participants from research, business, public support systems, and politics:
How can we strengthen global sustainability through technology and knowledge sharing?
What types of collaboration are most effective?
What are the benefits of open competition for development funding?
The debate will take place on the Global Stage (formerly "den lille andunge," now "Kambuzi").
