Sources of truth – high north renewable energy perspective

13.08.2025 kl. 13:30 - 14:15

Lavvoen (Kittelsbukt)

As Europe races toward a renewable energy future—building batteries, harnessing wind, and striving for self-sufficiency—new questions are arising in the high North. What land will power the transition? Who gets to decide what’s “sustainable”? What stories are being told, and what’s getting left behind?

We’re honoured to invite you to join us around the Lavvo bonfire for an open, thought-provoking conversation on how we navigate future sources of power and truth. This isn’t a debate with winners and losers—it’s a space to listen, question, and reflect. We’ll bring together energy developers, Indigenous voices, politicians, and journalists.

Together, we’ll dig into big questions:
- How do energy policies impact Saami and Indigenous communities on the frontlines of climate change?
-What role does the media play in representing many forms of “truth” and “authority”?
-Where do politicians and companies turn for facts before making irreversible decisions?
